**Title:** How to Edit and Manage Your Buy Box
**Format:** Help article
**Audience:** New users
**Slug:** edit-manage-buy-box
**Purpose:** Update, organize, and control your buy boxes to keep your investment criteria current.

**Content:**

Your buy boxes stay active until you change them. As your investment strategy evolves, update your criteria so matches stay relevant.

### Editing a Buy Box

Open your Profile from the sidebar or go to Settings > Profile. Scroll to the buy box section. You will see a list of all your saved buy boxes.

Click the edit icon (pencil) on any buy box to open the form. Change any criteria:

- Price range
- Property type
- Location (add or remove cities and ZIPs)
- Deal type
- Beds, baths, square footage, year built
- Visibility (Public, Network, or Private)
- Additional notes

Changes save immediately. The updated buy box is used for all future match attempts.

### Deactivating a Buy Box

If you are pausing a strategy (e.g., not buying in Q1), deactivate the buy box instead of deleting it. Deactivated buy boxes stop generating matches but keep all your criteria intact.

Click the toggle or status control next to the buy box to switch it from Active to Inactive. Reactivate it anytime with one click.

### Archiving a Buy Box

Use archive for completed or abandoned strategies. An archived buy box is hidden from your profile and stops matching. It is not deleted. You can view archived buy boxes from the buy box management screen.

### Deleting a Buy Box

Delete removes the buy box permanently, including all associated criteria and match history. There is no undo. Use archive instead if you think you might need the criteria again.

### Managing Multiple Buy Boxes

You can create separate buy boxes for each investment strategy. Common setups:

- **Fix-and-flip** — Lower price range, needs repairs, cash or hybrid deals
- **Buy-and-hold** — Rental grade,特定 neighborhoods, seller finance or subject-to
- **Wholesale assignments** — Distressed properties, below-market price range, quick close

Each buy box runs independently. A property matching one buy box generates a match even if it does not match your other buy boxes.

### Where Buy Boxes Appear

- **Your Profile page** — Visible to users with appropriate access (based on your visibility setting). Investors and sellers browsing profiles find you through your buy box.
- **Network > Buyers** — Other users can filter the directory by buyer type and see your criteria. If you are listed as a buyer in the Network, your buy box appears there.
- **Smart Buyers Lists** — When publishers run presentations, your buy box is included in the generated buyers list if your criteria match the property.

### Renaming Your Buy Boxes

Each buy box has a label field. Give them descriptive names like "Phoenix Flips" or "Atlanta Rentals" so you can tell them apart at a glance in the management screen.
