## Help Content

**Title:** Understanding the Contracts Tool
**Format:** Help article
**Audience:** All
**Slug:** contracts-tool
**Purpose:** Generate, sign, and manage contracts directly from a property profile.

**Content:**

The Contracts tool lets you create and manage contracts without leaving ReiSearch. Using your stored digital signature, you can generate standard real estate contracts, sign them, and store the signed copies in the property's Documents section.

### Accessing the Contracts Tool

Open any property from your Drafts, Shared, or Published tabs. The Contracts tool is available from the property detail page, typically in the bottom panel or an actions menu labeled "Contracts."

### Setting Your Digital Signature

Before you can sign contracts, you need a digital signature saved in your profile settings.

Go to Settings > Profile. Scroll to the Signature section. Click "Edit Signature" to draw or upload a signature image. Save your changes.

Your signature is stored securely and inserted into contracts when you sign. Update it anytime if your signature changes.

### Contract Templates

The Contracts tool uses standard real estate contract templates. Available templates may include:

- Purchase and Sale Agreement
- Assignment Contract
- Letter of Intent
- Offer form

Template availability depends on your plan and the property's deal type. If you need a specific template that is not listed, you can upload your own contract document through the property's Documents section.

### Generating a Contract

Open the Contracts tool for a property. Select a template. The system pre-fills basic fields from the property profile:

- Property address and legal description
- Buyer and seller names (from shared users or profile data)
- Purchase price (from the property's asking or offer price)
- Closing date (if set in the property deal structure)

Review all pre-filled fields. Edit or add any missing information. Fields that were not auto-filled need manual entry.

### Signing a Contract

After generating the contract, review the full document. When ready:

- Click "Sign" or "Add Signature."
- Your stored digital signature is inserted at the signature line.
- The contract status updates to "Signed by You."

If other parties need to sign, you can send the contract for e-signature or download and route it outside the platform.

### Sending for E-Signature

If e-signature is available on your plan, use the "Send for Signature" option. Enter the recipient's email address. They receive a link to review and sign the contract online. Signed contracts are stored in the property's Documents section.

### Storing Signed Contracts

Signed contracts are automatically saved to the property's Documents section. You can also download a PDF copy at any time from the Documents list.

To verify a signed contract: open it from Documents. The signed version shows the signature and a timestamp.

### Sharing Signed Contracts

Use the Share function on the property to give team members or partners access to signed contracts. Shared users can view and download contracts from the Documents section.

### Notes for Neo
- Specific contract template names were not confirmed in the platform doc. I listed common real estate contract types but these need to be verified against what is actually available in the platform. If the template list is different, I can update.
- E-signature availability and whether it requires a specific plan tier was not specified in the platform doc. I wrote it as "if available on your plan." Confirm to make this more specific.
