Present renovation before/after images and repair costs

Use Renovation AI pairs and grids alongside underwriting repair-cost tables to explain a proposed renovation and its cost assumptions.

A renovation slide is most useful when it connects a proposed visual change to a supported cost assumption. ReiSearch provides two complementary sources: Renovation AI for before/after imagery and Underwriting for repair and renovation investment blocks.

Confirm the underwriting version

Presentation creation can ask which underwriting version to use. That selection supplies costs and renovation photos throughout the editor, share link, and PDF. Confirm the scenario before interpreting a cost table or before/after pair. Without underwriting, these sections may show placeholders. See the public-template creation steps.

Prepare the property first

  1. Open the intended property and review its current-condition images.
  2. Use the property’s Underwriting workflow to prepare repair or renovation estimates and available renovation results.
  3. Check room labels and the relationship between the before image, proposed after image, and estimate.
  4. Return to the presentation linked to that property.

The presentation panel displays available results. It does not generate a renovation just because you open the panel.

Add a before/after pair

  1. Select the renovation slide and expand Renovation AI.
  2. Find the room and before/after result you want to discuss.
  3. Drag the pair onto the slide, rather than treating its two thumbnails as independent uploads.
  4. Resize and position the composed block.
  5. Check that the before and after images still correspond to the same room and proposed scope.

The pair is designed to travel together. Where a complete pair is available, keeping the images side by side makes the comparison clearer than spreading them across unrelated slides.

Use a caption that distinguishes actual condition from an AI-generated proposal. A generated after image illustrates an idea; it does not establish that the work has been completed or that the proposed scope is feasible at a particular price.

Add the full before/after grid

When complete pairs are available, the panel exposes Before / After Grid. Drag this block onto a slide to compose a combined layout from the available complete pairs.

Review the number of pairs the grid actually includes. An incomplete result with only one side available is not equivalent to a complete before/after pair. If the grid becomes too dense to read, use individual room pairs on separate slides.

When reusing the layout through templates, review every resolved image and room caption for the new property. A reusable layout does not remove the need to verify the new property’s renovation results.

Add repair and renovation cost information

  1. Expand Underwriting in the Elements panel.
  2. Wait for the linked property’s repair and renovation data to load.
  3. Drag the available investment table onto a cost-summary slide.
  4. Review the Categories and their material/labor information.
  5. Add relevant category blocks beside a room proposal or on a separate slide.

This panel focuses on repair and renovation investment. It should not be described as an automatic source of every cash-flow, financing, or return metric from the main underwriting workspace.

Make the cost story understandable

Identify whether amounts are estimates or confirmed quotes. Explain which work is included, whether material and labor figures cover the same scope, and which costs remain outside the displayed total.

For example, a kitchen proposal can show an actual before image, a generated after image, and the corresponding supported repair-cost category. Avoid implying that the appearance of the after image guarantees the displayed budget will achieve that result.

Review assumptions in the deal analysis guide before treating the slide as an investment conclusion.

Resolve missing panels or data

Message or symptom Next step
Link a property to load results Confirm that the presentation is associated with the intended property
No renovation AI results yet Prepare and review results from the property’s Underwriting workflow
A pair has only one image Review the available result; do not present it as a complete comparison
Could not load underwriting or renovation data Use Retry, then recheck the source property if the issue persists
Empty or unexpected cost table Review the property’s repair and renovation input data

Finish by saving, checking Preview, and opening the actual export or public view. Make sure generated imagery is clearly described and every cost figure has a defensible source.
